The Vagina Monologues are coming to SLU!

This international movement is all about female activism. Women on campus who are interested in the cause are welcome to audition (they were held on December 8th, but those interested can contact Katie Protos, head of the Advocates Program and director of this production). Sorry guys, only females can perform, but if you want to get involved help is always appreciated back stage. Don't worry, no previous acting skills are required, just an open mind.

Curious about V-Day? It's a production based on The Vagina Monologues, a play produced by Eva Ensler who is also the founder of V-Day.  These humorous and somewhat taboo monologues are about putting a stop to sexual violence, battery, incest, genital mutilation, rape, battery, and sexual slavery. This year's monologues are spotlighting the women and girls of the Democratic Republic of Congo. One of the really great things about the production is that 10% of the funds made by the show go to the international fund and the other 90% will go to our own Advocates Program here on campus. This way, we get to make both a global and local change.
Not interested in participating, but still a wee bit curious? Come and watch the show! Performances will be after winter break on February 19th, 20th and 21st. Tickets are $5.
