Women's Tennis Works Through Tough First Weeks

Whatever doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. That has become the motto for the St. Lawrence women’s tennis team as they have battled through injuries throughout the season. Nevertheless, the team has been able to win three out of their last five matches since returning from spring break. 

Men’s Hockey Disappoints, Ties and Loses to Clarkson

The Saints men’s hockey team lost some of their momentum last weekend, tying Clarkson 3-3 at Appleton Arena on Friday night and losing 3-1 the next night in Potsdam.
  St. Lawrence entered the weekend without one of their most productive forwards, as senior Casey Parenteau suffered an injury in the game against Colgate that has likely ruled him out for the season.

Men’s Basketball Earns Postseason Berth With Weekend Sweep

The St. Lawrence men’s basketball team had a spectacular weekend as they swept Liberty League conference rivals Union (99-80) and Skidmore (83-68) at Burkman Gymnasium. The wins stretched their winning streak to six and kept the Saints in first place with a 9-1 conference record. The Saints, now 16-4, have also earned an automatic bid in this year’s Liberty League tournament from February 27-28.
  But simply making the post-season tournament is only the team’s first step, said Coach Chris Downs.

Since the SLU Men’s hockey team opened up their ECAC schedule with a home win and a tie against Yale and Brown respectively, they have stumbled. In the eight games since those league-opening decisions, the Saints have gone 2-6.

New Staff Leads Women’s Soccer to Liberty League Tournament

The St. Lawrence University Men’s hockey team opened up their ECAC schedule last weekend, defeating Yale 3-2 in overtime on Friday, and skating to a 2-2 tie with Brown Saturday afternoon.

Women’s Hockey Beats Robert Morris 5-1

Despite the long and rainy weekend both the Women and Men’s hockey teams were able to come through undefeated for their weekend games. The women played a double header against Robert Morris both on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and finished up the weekend 2-0.

SLU Crushes UNH 4-1

Sunday, October 26th was a big day for the Men’s hockey team, crushing the 4th ranked University of New Hampshire in a 4-1 win. Twenty six hundred fans were in attendance as the Saints battled the Wildcats, who are currently ranked sixth by the U.S. College Hockey rankings. The game started fast and hard with elbows flying and sticks prodding, penalties starting after just a minute and a half. The game totaled twenty-one penalties, with ten for St. Lawrence and eleven for UNH, resulting in a very physical game.
